LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Rangataua 1987 Many ratepayers of Rangataua have recently expressed their disgust with the Waimarino County at the way they have let the roads and drainage system around the township deteriorate. Winter has not started yet and already the roads are literally disintegrating. The only thingdone to them isan occasional scrape with the grader. They will never be any good until there is proper metal put on them instead of the useless grit with which they are covered. We as ratepayers want something done to upgrade the drainage system. It has
got to a stage where it is totally inefficient. We want to know why the main drain that runs from Miharo Street through Ohutu Grazing Co. has not been maintained. This drain is supposed to take away all surface water from Rangataua and if it is properly serviced would help to reduce the high water table in the area. It should never have got to the disgusting state that it is now in. It has got to a stage where we are sick and tired of being given excuses and promises. We want something done and we want it done now.
