Ladies golf

Opening day for the Waimarino Ladies Golf recently was a great success with good weather and the course in excellent condition. Sharon Mazey was welcomed as a new player to the club. A visitor from Scotland Carol McDougal also played. Canadian foursomes were played with Betty Berridge and Margaret Kennedy winning with 78 nett. Jean Windle and Goldie Fraser recorded twos. The raffle was won by Vida Whale. The Waimarino Ladies Golf team for the Spalding Club Competition at Foxton on Friday 10 April is Kay Cranston, Heather Cranston, Elaine Goldfinch and reserve — Kath Greenwood.
