Waiouru houses get spruce-up

Recent painting and renovations to houses in the Waiouru army camp community has made a great difference to the appearance of the area. The Waiouru community shopping centre has been completely repainted and the gardens tidied up, with finance and new plants donated by the shopowners in the centre. Houses have had old fireplaces taken out and been replaced by Fischer stoves, which are more economical and reduce the risk of fires. Waiouru's Ministry of Works department have undertaken the work on the shopping centre and painted the exteriors of houses while contractors were called in to install the new stoves.
