Endurance ride at Karioi
The Karioi Endurance Ride will be held on Saturday 28 March on Peter jfT'cDonnell's property. L This is the 3rd year the Club has organised a ride and members are sure it will be the best yet. The first ride was an easy course through forestry tracks, and last year an extremely tough route was chosen over farmland with steep climbs and steep descents all the way. Only 6 horses met the necessary vet requirements (i.e. heartbeats returned to 60 or below). This year course marker Bert Jordan has agreed to strike a happy medium and lay out an easier ride more suitable for our local juniors and fun riders. There are 3 rides. The 50km open for the experienced and fit, the 20km adult fun ride for those not so fit, and the 20km junior ride. President of the Karioi Endurance Club is Gary Scorringe, and secretary Mrs Pam McCready of Waiouru. They will be pleased to answer any enquiries about the rides on 28 March.
