RSA ban lifted

Staff and patrons of the Waiouru RSA are now happily going about their business after a period of unrest during the latter months of 1986. The dischord about underage drinkers and the consequent ban of all Army personnel from the RSA last November left a bitter taste in many people's mouths. The ban has now been

lifted and patrons are once more able to get about the serious business of quenching their thirsts. Former club manager Peggy Pedley resigned 27 December after being with the club for the last three years. Mrs Pedley commented that her last couple of weeks in the position had been "pretty rough." Since her departure the club has been without an official manager but has been capably run by barstaff Rose Hill and Maureen Price. Both ladies have considerable experience in running such establishments and have things running like clockwork. The Association's president Robin Hudson has handled the managerial side since Mrs Pedley's departure and will continue doing so as it is not yet certain whether another manager will be employed to fill the position. The management of the club will be discussed at the RSA's annual general meeting next month which will vote in a new president and will also hold an election of officers.
