POLO CROSS
The Waimarino Polo Cross Club held their annual general meeting recently to discuss plans for this season and to elect a new committee. Harvey Godfrey was elected president. Catherine McLean secretary and Enid Windle club captain. Patron of the club is A.K.. McLean. Theclubhas 12enthusiastic members who meet regularly and practice at the A & P showgrounds in Raetihi. Interested individuals are cordially invited to attend the practice sessions. It was decided that one team would be fielded this season under the capable instruction of the club's "unofficial coach" and retired president of the New Zealand Polo Cross Council, Richard Kui. Players are required to provide their own mount and saddlery if they intend to play for an entire season. The club provides such items as saddle blankets and team shirts. Plans are under way to enter the club in Raetihi's Christmas parade on 13 December. Players and horses will be attired in their player's regalia and will march down Seddon Street with the rest of the parade.
