Watch out dogs!

Unregistered dogs in the Waimarino had better watch out. Officialdom is on your tails!

Ohakune Borough councillor Alan Goddard said recently that as at 1 June 1986 there were 51 unregistered dogs in the borough. "Some might have died, and some might have moved, but some of them must still be here," he said. Chairman of the Waimarino Hydatids Control Authority, Cr Con Heinold, spoke on the same subject to the recent county meeting. He said that only 1 140 dogs out of 1 350 in the authority's area had been registered. Both councillors said that owners of unregistered dogs would be prosecuted. There are also 48 unregistered dogs in the Raetihi Borough.
