Wild boar's jaw given for annual golf trophy
Results of games played at Waimarino Golf Club on Sunday 22 July were as follows. The first contest between Ohakune and Raetihi was fought out between 25 players from Raetihi and 14 from Ohakune. Raetihi's 3 1 .9 points over Ohakunes 31.4 points made them winners and Ross Brown received the appropriate trophy, a wild boar's jaw. This was mounted suitably and presented by Mr. Con Heinold, the club captain. This will be contested annually in future. Top scores - Senior: S. Swarbrick 40, S. Magee 40, R. Brown 39, C. Turner38,G. Imhoff37, R. Southee 37, T. Tapp 37. Junior - K. McDougall 36, T. Fredericks Jnr 36, A. Robinson 36, D. Herewini 35, C. Webb 35, T. Fredericks Snr 35, N. Clarke 35, A. Smith 35. Twos - G. McGill, N. Cranston on hole 3. Next Sunday 29 June is 3rd qualifying round.
