Turoa Lodge manager

The new manager of Turoa Ski Lodge was announced yesterday. Chris Arrell and his wife Renata will take over the position next week. They replace Terry and Maree Francis who withdrew due to "personal reasons." Mr Arrell worked in Auckland for Hospitality Magazine before accepting the position at the ski lodge. He has also had exerience in hotels. The lodge is expected to

open in early July. One of the owners of the lodge, who declined to be named, said the lodge would be run differently this year, with a higher quality cuisine and a family atmosphere. "It won't be an all-night bar and itH be more a skier's lounge rather than a boozebarn," he said. At present the lodge will open for the winter season only but the spokesman said there was potential for it to open year-round at a later stage.
