Taihape phones now STD
Taihape telephone numbers, formerly obtained through the toll operator, are now available by direct dialing. From last week calls to Taihape can be made using the STD code 0658. However Taihape numbers have changed, many, but not all, simply with the added prefix 80. Other numbers have jcompletely changed. Mr Gordon, chief post- ■
master at Wanganui, said that the new Wanganui directory, which includes Taihape numbers, will be out in July. In the meantime subscribers will have to ring directory service for information on Taihape numbers. He said however that business people who rang Taihape frequently, could obtain a supplementary Taihape directory by applying to the postmaster at Ohakune post office.
