Waiouru soccer report

Waiouru played Taupo in the first home soccer game of the 1986 season. As usual it was a hard fought game between two very equal sides. In 1985 Waiouru managed a win and a draw against Taupo, so this game was always going to be close. The first half was eveir with both teams ruining chances. A great through ball by Kel Hanley saw Lockie Cameron run in and score a well-taken goal. The game finished at 1-0 to Waiouru. Another 3 points and a great start to the season. A.G.I. man of the match was Bugsy Pullen. Other Waiouru results were: Waiouru Celtics 8 v Waikune 0. Goal scorers: Harman 3, Baran 3, Gordon 1, Leighton 1. Cadets A 3 v Taumarunui 1 . Goal scorers: Hay 2, Adams 1 for Waiouru. Cadets B 0 v Hautu 8.
