Badminton big this year
The Ohakune Badminton Club will be bigger and better this year believes president, Lyn Brannigan. The club has 14 committee members more than last year so more will be done. The club is hoping to get a Wanganui coach to spend a day with members of the club, as they have not had formal coaching before. B, C and D teams wilL probably play inter-club games this year and it is! hoped there will be more competition within the club. At present, there are about 20 juniors in the club „ and well over 30 seniors. The club plays at the Ruapehu College Community Gymnasium on Tuesday nights. Juniors play from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and seniors from 7,30pm to 10.30pm. The season starts in March and ends in November. At the club's annual general meeting last week, Lyn Brannigan was re-elected president, new player Donna Moore vice-president, Peter Fenwick re-elected secretary and Jocelyn Cranston the new treasurer.
