Hui Aranga success
The Hui Aranga attended by the Ruapehu Maori Catholic Club at Francis Douglas College in New Plymouth over Easter was a wonderful success. Vera Wilson said the hui was held in very good spirit and the liturgy on Good Friday was fantastic. It told the story of Whitiand Toho, two local prophets, in relation to the stations of the cross. She said the weather was Tovely, the mountain, Tara-
naki, was kind to them, and alf had a wonderful time. Results involving the Ruapehu group were: Friday - 2nd in choir; midget class, 3rd in action song and poi, 2nd in haka. Saturday - rugby, Ruapehu were run-ners-up; on Saturday night, in the junior sections of the competitions, 2nd in action song, 3rd in poi; senior, 1st in action song and poi; oratory, Mark Cribb, 5th former at Ruapehu College, won junior men, and Hera Willis won junior women, Agnes Mareikura 3rd in senior women. Quiz, 2nd.
