Waiouru museum to feature in National programme

Philip Liner of Radio New Zealand visited Waiouru Military Museum on Friday to record a documentary which will be broadcast on Anzac weekend. The military museum will be featured on Mr Liner's hour-long 'Roundabout' programme on Sunday 27 April at 2pm. Mr Liner and his wife, Jean, spent several hours

touring the building with the director of the museum, Major Peter Nelson. As they arrived at each showcase or display, Mr Liner asked questions and Major Nelson gave the background and details of what was inside. Music of the Army band will be played in the background during the programme as well as the sounds of guns and war

which are recorded at the museum. Mr and Mrs Liner were to visit the Army School of Catering and the Cadet School after they finished their recording at the museum. They stayed at the ATG Officer's Mess on Friday night. Mr Liner described the changes at the museum and Army Camp as 'remarkable' since his last visit to the area several years ago.
