Rugby club to build park fence

The Ohakune-Karioi rugby club is to build a fence along the front of the Rochfort Park rugby ground from the Turoa Tumblers' hall to the end of the second ground, to help with parking and landscaping this corner of the park. Under an agreement with the Ohakune Borough Council the council is to provide materials and club members will do the work at no cost to

the council on 15th March. A 1.5m baton fence will extend to the end of the first field, and a post and wire fence to the end of the second. The materials have been priced by building inspector Des Sutton at $3620 and their supply has been authorised by council provided the fence is built by 1 May. The club is also renovating the kitchen in the club rooms and quotes are being looked at for a new bar.
