TRIATHLON
About 120 people swam, cycled and ran around Waiouru during Army Training Group's Triathlon last Wednesday. Due to the cold water inj the Moawhango Dam, the 800 metre swim was reduced to 550m. Competitors also cycled for 25 kilometres, ran to Home Valley and back intoj camp to the finish of the race j at Burns Pool and a well-' earned barbecue and prizegiving. Lance Corporal Dean Aitken, organiser of the race, said the number of competitors had doubled since last year's race. Winner of the men's open section was last year's second placegetter Graham
Pengelly, who completed the course in one hour, 36minutes and four seconds. Other results of the event are: Men's open: 2nd Pete Malloy, time 1.36.20. Men's team event: 1st Workshops, 1.27.30; 2nd Officer Cadet School, 1 .28.52; 3rd School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, 1.30.24, Women's open: 1st Mrs W. Liddell, 2.1548; 2nd Charlotte Te Kani, 2.30.38. Veteran men: 1st Major Nelson, 1.46J2, 2nd WOl Brown, 1.54.50. Women's team: lst4 Composite Squadron, 1.54.45; 2nd Officer Cadet School, 2.02.04.
