KARIOI SPORTS

Everyone will have the chance to compete in fun sports events next Saturday at the annual Karioi Sports Meeting at the Karioi Domain. The events will include athletics competitions, children's wether riding, tossing the sheaf, nail driving, height and weight guessing, fat lamb competition and horse events. The day begins at 10.30am and admission is free. There will be refreshments available at the grounds. The sports day has been an annual event since justl after World War II when itl was run by the Ngamoki Sports Club at the Duigan property at Karioi. It has been held in the Karioi Domain since the mid 1950s, said secretary of the Karioi Sports Club,, Tom Kennedy.
