Miro Park problem

Residents of Miro Park, Ohakune, are annoyed that the bank beneath the railway line, which forms part of their outlook towards Mt Ruapehu, has not been restored to original condition. The bank was stripped of grass and gum trees during railway line straightening and has been left in an unsightly condition. The NZ Railways engineer for electrification in Wanganui, Murray Gilbertson, said grass should be sown by autumn. Peter Ellery, on-site engineer, said grass had been planted but it did not grow as it was the wrong time of the year.
