Our summer garden

I wish you could walk in our garden In the freshness and beauty of spring, When all life with new vigour is bursting and the birds are beginning to sing. The snowdrops and crocus are lifting their heads Now the chill of the winter has gone, And the cherry trees laden with blossom Lift their arms to the warmth of the sun. I wish you could walk in our garden In the cool of a soft summer dawn, The dew is still soft on the roses And daisies glow bright on the lawn. The birds lift their voices in chorus, With glad songs fill the sweet summer air All nature awakes with her message Of joy, for the summer is here. I wish you could walk in our garden When the grandeur of autumn's display Bursts forth like a giant artist's palette To colour each newly born day. The soft evening light on the mountain Tints the foothills a lavender hue, And the snows on the peak catch the sun's dving rays Ere they fade to a deep icy blue. I wish you could walk in our garden But this cannot be it is true, So we send you this fragrant pot pourri To bring flowers from our garden to you.
