Microwave course

Nearly 30 Waimarino women are now more inspired to use their microwave ovens after a daylong demonstration in Waiouru recently. Mrs Dawn Reid, Wanganui Electric Power Board's microwave demonstrator, took the course, which was organised by the Wanganui Community College. Mrs Reid showed the group how microwave ovens work and gave many tips on quick and easy ways of cooking.

She demonstrated how to microwave roast lamb, roast chicken, a delicious savoury meatloaf and chicken pieces in apricot nectar, which were sampled for lunch. Mrs Reid showed how pineapple delight, a desert with a meringue topping, fudge and chocolate crunch were all easy to make.
