Ruapehu Radio late with prizes

It is two months since Ruapehu Radio went off the air, but the major prize-winner in the 2XR draw still hasn't received her prize. Vivian O'Sullivan, of Ohakune was to have won a bottle of champagne, $100 in a Wanganui Savings Bank HIT account, a trip for two to the Chateau, a trip for two to Auckland flying Kiwiair, and a pair of Rossignol skis at a total value of over $1000. When manager of 2XR, Dave Campbell, was contacted two weeks ago and

asked when Vivian would receive her prizes he said the vouchers would be in the mail that week, but she still has not received anything. "I'd hate to see it just a PR gimmick every year and other people being ripped off," she said. In the Ruapehu Radio competition clues were given out over a week about an area in the Waimarino, which had to be guessed by competitors. Five people guess correctly, and Vivian's name was drawn out for the major prize. Hopefully Vivian won't have to wait as long for her prize as a group of children last year. They waited five months for a helicopter flight, after winning another competition judged by 2XR staff.
