Mobile crane a first

Ruapehu Engineering Company owner Eric Betty has added a mobile crane to his equipment, the first in the area. Eric bought the crane from Wellington to lift the trusses on his new workshop in Burns Street, but it is available for all kinds of lifting. The Coles crane will lift up to 1 V2 tonnes to a height of 63 feet. Eric has used the crane for lifting pipes and other work

he does at WinstoneSamsung Industries Ltd at Karioi. The new workshop measuring 20 metres by 15, and six metres high, will be a base for his general engineering work such as welding and general maintenance, which he does for Fletchers and Hurlstones, among other firms. There is a mezzanine floor in the building. It is expected that the workshop will be completed by the end of this week.
