Death of Ethel Proffitt
Mrs Ethel Proffitt died last week at Waimarino Hospital aged 85. Mrs Proffitt has lived in the Waimarino for many years and was well-known in the district. She and her late husband Alfred used to manage the farm which is now Lilburn's property, and lived in Rangataua before that. She i^survived by five of her six children, as well as many grand and great-grand-children.
