Prominent Maori for college prizegiving

The Ruapehu College senior prizegiving, to be held in the college hall this Thursday at 1.30pm, will be addressed by Elizabeth Murchie, a community officer from Rotorua. Mrs Murchie, who is the past president of the Maori Women's Welfare League, is a well known commentator on Maori affairs and a contributor to morning comment on the National Programme. Mrs Murchie has been a driving force behind groups studying the health of Maori women over the past few years. Principal of the college, Mr Mike Warbrick, said Mrs Murchie's address was sure to be a stimulating one.
