COUNCIL

Dear Sir, Through your columns 1 would like to congratulate the councillors of the three Waimarino local authorities on their extended efforts in finally arriving at the decision to form a district council. More than twenty years ago this decision was considered logical but negative arguments and parochial attitudes prevented the positive advantages it will create. This must surely be the first step in a united Waimarino that will bring, about better planning, greater savings and a team effort for the good of all those people who live in one of the best patches of New Zealand.
