POLICE FILE

Ruapehu Radio's 21metre aerial fell to the ground on Saturday night after one of the steel guys which hold up the aerial was cut. It is believed there was little damage to the aerial, which is situated on Jim Cranston 's property at Makaranui. The incident happened after the aerial had been turned off at the end of Ruapehu's final broadcast

at 5pm on Saturday. If it had still been turned on, the offenders might have caused harm to themselves. * ★ ★ Also on Saturday night, a vehicle was stolen and taken to the Hapuawhenua Viaduct. On the same night, also at the Viaduct, a truck's handbrake was released and the vehicle ran down a hill into the steel supports to the bridge: The supports were bent and could prove very costly to repair.
