Garden Club show on Thursday

The Raetihi Garden Club is holding the Waimarino Spring Show in the Raetihi School assembly hall this Thursday, 19 September. With this burst of spring weather the blooms should be in good condition. Mr D. Stewart of Ohakune will judge the daffodils. Mrs Stewart will judge the cut flower section. It is hoped there will be a reasonable number of floral art entries, to be judged by Mrs June O'Neill of Raetihi. With the Raetihi Floral Art Club in recess there is no organising committee for these entries. The afternoon tea will be provided by the Raetihi Play Centre as a fund-raising venture. The four Spring Show raffles are an iced cake, made by Mavis Fredericksen and iced by Adrienne Maru, an arrangement of artificial flowers by Pixie Chambers, a grocery hamper and a shrub. Convenor of the Spring Show is Mrs Barbara Brown, assisted by members.
