17-year-old saves match for Old Boys

A tackle by Raetihi 17-year-old, Himi Ratana, five minutes from fulltime, saved the match for Ruapehu College Old Boys at Hunterville on Saturday. Ratana, who saved a certain try, sustained concussion in the tackle on his opposite number and was carried from the field. R.C.O..B's 15-12 win over Hunterville 'A' takes them to an early lead in the Wanganui division three championship. Kevin Martin scored a drop goal just before half time, making the half-time score 1 5-0 to Raetihi. In the second half a try by Caton Te Moana put Raetihi further ahead. Wanganui came straight back with a try. Gabriel Te Moana increased Raetihi's lead with a try and conversion. Wanganui closed the gap before the end of the match with a try and conversion giving the final score of 2510 in Raetihi's favour.
