Ohakune police arrested a local man on Friday for the burglary of a hut at the single men's quarters of the New Zealand Forest Service Camp in Clyde Street, Ohakune the previous day. Taken from the camp were sheepskin rugs and other personal property. ★ ★ ★ Two rear wheels, a drive shaft, a spare wheel, a battery and a steering wheel were stolen from a 1964 Holden car parked on State Highway 49 late on Saturday night. ★ ★ ★ In Waiouru, a wallet and a small quantity of cash were

stolen from the Waiouru Hotel at the weekend. ★ ★ ★ During the early hours of Sunday morning, police responded after receiving a call that burglars were at the Waimarino Golf Club. Three local persons were arrested at the scene and one other person was arrested later in the morning. Ohakune police Sergeant Neil Coker said the apprehensions were made possible due to the assistance and good work of three golf club members. "Due to their efforts we were also able to apprehend the fourth offender later that morning," he said.
