College draws with Waikune
Ruapehu College soccer team played Waikune at home in their second league match on Sunday, hoping for their first win. Ruapehu were 2-0 ahead after only 12 minutes and looked set for a high score. A Waikune goal shortly after seemed to throw Ruapehu's confidence however, and an own goal just prior to half-time saw the score level at 2-2. Waikune took the lead five minutes into the second half only to have the score tied again when Jamie Dennison completed his second hat-trick'of the season. A long even period of play followed before Glen Prattley scored what seemed to
be the winning gpal for Ruapehu. Waikunex:ame back again however to tie the final score at 4-4. Although Ruapehu picked up their first point, they must surely be disappointed that they were unable to produce many of the team skills they showed they were capable of in their previous match.
