Racing with JOHNNY

Well punters, by the time this goes to press, most people will probably

have heard the marvellous news. The Bulletin (and the advertisers) are sending me on an all expenses paid trip to the U.S.A. and Canada, from where 1 will be sending notes back about the racing scene over there. 1 will be visiting Las Vegas to get ready for the arrival of poker machines in Ohakune. Who knows, with the Melbourne Cup worth one million dollars this year, I may even end up in Australia in November. So, this is my last article fora couple of weeks — who knows, my great friend Bully might be well enough to take his job back by then. Before I go, there is just a couple of things I want to

warn punters not to do. Firstly when any of your mates say, "how's the betting going," never say it's going well because that way they cannot tap you for 'ten bucks'. Secondly, never leave your marked racebook on the T.A.B. bench, because it will disappear and the divvy on your 'hot tips' will slump dramatically. Thirdly, don't throw your tickets away until you've checked the meeting code and race number. Lastly, for those complaining of no horse tips, you must admit I haven't cost the punters a penny! Good luck and please send the T.A.B. broke while I'm away!
