Raetihi's new P.C. comes to town
Raetihi's new police constable, Trevor Pullan began work on Saturday. Trevor and his wife Dale, are from Ellerslie in Auckland. They arrived in Raetihi on Tuesday so as yet they haven't seen all of the town, "all we've been doing is unpacking," he said. Six foot-three Trevor was for seven years at Newmarket Police Station, but worked mainly in the Ellerslie area. He began his police career at Auckland Central Police Station, but was there for only a short time. Trevor will shortly be moving into the new Raetihi police station which is near completion. It is expected to be finished by late February. Trevor replaces Constable Kevin Entwisle, who is now part of the Taihape police team. But Kevin has not left the area completely as he is maintaining patrol presence in the Waimarino. Although he only arrived to take up his new post on Tuesday, Trevor has visited the Waimarino before. "It seems a nice wee place," he concluded. A similar opinion was held by Kevin Entwistle. As sole-charge policeman at Raetihi he was on call at any time but he certainly didnt regret his two years in the area.
"I like the area and it has been brilliant as far as gaining experience is concerned ... IVe learned
more in two years than I could ever have hoped to do in the same time elsewhere."
