Racing with BULLY

Happy New Year to all readers and may it be a prosperous one for all punters. lt has certainly started off in poor returns for Bully, but I have licked my wounds and hope to start off again with renewed enthusiasm at Trentham and the Wellington Cup this weekend. Over the Christmas/New Year period we saw some excellent racing and the Auckland Cup was one of the best. Jockey Neil Hain rode Secured Deposit to perfection and being the good horse that he is Secured Deposit did the rest. 1 cannot see this horse being beaten in the Wellington Cup and if he does win he will get a tremendous reception from the Wellington crowd who are quick to acknowledge great performances. Remember Secured Deposit won this race last year also. A stable mate of this good horse is Warlike and if he is taken to Trentham for the sprint it could be Neville Atkins' stable double, Warlike missing the Railway ir. Auckland by the smallest of margins. Up north this week we have racing at Pukekohe where the Franklin Racing

Clu.b will be holding another of their popular meetings. Amongst the locals that could go good races are Bah trade, The Mighly Quinn and My Sport, while from Matamata Honest Mark and Troubled Water have both been most impressive in their work. Our man in the Waikato reports that Black Visa could be back to winning form and Sovereigns Road is looking very bright. If Nazman is taken to Pukekohe he would be worth a ticket or two as well. This fellow is pretty good when he hits his peak which is close now. From a little closer to home, at Awapuni, Celerina is causing excitement amongst his followers by some excellent work. Manehu may start in the Wellington Cup and while I cannot see him footing it with Secured Deposit, he would certainly be a possibility for a place. At Woodville Amynette has come though her win last week in fine style and could go well again next time up. Delta Tango ran another good one at Pahiatua and if taken south could add interest to what ever he contests. Good luck everybody and remember Bully tips them first and you have read it in the Bulletin.
