• A privately-owned caravan parked in Burns Street, Ohakune had electrical entertainment equipment valued at $360 stolen on the afternoon of Friday 9 November. Police are investigating. • On the evening of 9 November, a bus parked in the Ohakune Education Board garage had $50 worth of petrol siphoned from it. Investigations are continuing. • A car stolen from Clyde Street, Ohakune on Saturday 3 November was found three days later with no damage. The Silver Singer Vogue had run out of petrol and had been abandoned. • The Waimarino Golf Club was burgled on the evening of Friday 9 November. Liquor and
cigarettes to the value of $180 were stolen. The intruders used a ladder that had been left by painters who were working at the club, to climb up to an open window. After entering the building they broke into the bar by taking the hinge pins from the door. • Police are investigating strong leads in relation to the burglary of two ski chalets on the corner of Miro and Shannon Streets, Ohakune. Sometime over the weekend of 10/11 November, intruders broke the windows of the chalets, entered the properties and cast things into disarray. The police have been unable to contact the owners to ascertain what has been stolen.
• The culprits in twelve burglaries which have taken place over a period of time in Rangataua have been discovered. The youths have been ordered to do community work.
