BEEKEEPING COURSE FOR BEGINNERS

Mr Ted Roberts, Senior Lecturer in Agronomy, is again holding the popular "Introduction to Beekeeping" course at Massey University this year. The course, designed for beginners and newconiers to the industry, will run from 21-23 November. Mr Roberts says the programme will cover many aspects of beekeeping. It includes sessions on seasonal management; hive products, processing, packing and marketing; queen raising and introduction; and MAF and legal requirements. In addition, practical work will involve two apiary sessions and visits to both commercial and private honey houses. Accommmodation for course participants is available at the University, and applications close on 31 October.
