RUAPEHU REGION INFORMATION CENTRE NEWS
The Ruapehu Region Information Centre in Clyde Street, Ohakune is now on the mailing list for a number of major tourism publications including all material being sent out by the National Travel Association headquarters in Wellington. A reference library is being developed to cater for enquiries from people within the region who wish to ask about the various aspects of tourism in the region. Dozens of people have visited the centre each day over the August holidays with questions as varied as
how to get to Waiouru, where to get a broken windscreen fixed and of course many looking for accommodation. Information Officer, Joanne Boyle, will be attending a Public Relations Conference in Palmerston North from 1 6 September through to 1 8 September. The conference will be attended by most of the other Public Relation Officers from around the North Island and should prove very informative and be most helpful to Miss Boyle.
