Pragmatic pharmacist caters for all conditions
Ohakune Photo Pharmacy displays a notice when it is open (see picture) that conjures up images of both the glamorous and the
realistic sides of skiing. The words: 'Sunglasses', 'Film', and 'Sunburn', are followed by the words, 'First Aid 'and 'Crutches '. This comprehensive service — whatever fortune or misfortune befalls you — is provided from 8.30am to 6.00pm weekdays, 8.30am to 8.30pm Fridays and also on Saturday mornings (during the ski season) from 8.30am to 12 noon. The pharmacy will also open in the evenings of Saturday and Sunday as well as Sunday mornings when the weather is fine and the Turoa Skifield is open. The pharmacy is currently running two exhibitions — one by Auckland potter Claire Stenhouse and the other of landscape and portrait paintings by Auckland artist Harry Sangl. The two new shops — one of 500 sq.ft., the other of 600 sq.ft. — being built next door to the pharmacy are expected to be ready arid available for new tenants next month or early October.
