ROAD ACCIDENT
A Raetihi man, Mr Douglas Mervyn Lett, 67, was killed last Sunday week when the van he was travelling in as a passenger on the Ohura Road 25km north-west of Raetihi, struck a pole. Mr Lett was apparently thrown from the vehicle when then rolled on him. "This was the first fatality in the Waimarino area for about the last two years," said Ohakune 's traffic officer, Graeme Cole.
