Fireball!
A bright meteoric fireball was seen over a large part of the Waimarino a little after 7.00pm last Friday evening. According to some observers the countryside was momentarily illuminated in an eerie glow which resembled a long flash of lightning. The meteorite was travelling in a north easterly direction when it entered the earth's atmosphere.
