BOWLS

A member of the Ohakune Indoor Bowls Club, 15-year old Michael Edwards, travelled to Auckland last weekend to compete in the N.Z. junior indoor bowls championships. Michael, a fourth former at Ruapehu College, qualified to play in the national competition by winning the

junior championship at Taihape recently. Michael was unplaced among the 38 competitors in Auckland, but gained valuable experience. On Sunday, the local bowls clubs combined to send a 14-strong team to. play the annual fixture with the St Johns Club in Wanganui.
