Ruapehu Radio 2XR commenced transmission yesterday on 1125 kHz (Turoa) and 1233 kHz (Whakapapa). Their studios in Ohakune were a hive of activity last week as station staff and technicians moved in. Holding the sign are Lisa Blamires (left) from Auckland and station manager Dave Campbell from Wellington. Wanganui technicians Andy Johnson and Bruce Anderson of 2ZW are assembling the console. Ruapehu Radio is expecting to be on air for two months this year — twice as long as last year.
