Business lunch 'special'
A 'very special' luncheon — which no business person can afford to miss — is to be held at the Ohakune Club on Thursday of this week. Organised by the Ohakune Promotions Association in conjunction with Turoa Skifields the luncheon will certainly be more than just that ... guests will be treated to entertainment and a visual display that will "demonstrate the full potential of the opportunities available for the tourist promotion of the area" said spokesman Terry Drayton of Skigold last week. The invitation to attend the luncheon is extended to every business person in Ohakune and those with affiliations or tourist promotion facilities in the Waimarino. Invitations have been sent out but there may befcsome that are not received in time and there may be other new business enterprises that are
not yet on our lists, said Mr Drayton. "But it's imperative that every business person must attend to learn what has been achieved to date, what is happening now and what is being planned," he said. "If they are not there (at the luncheon) we can't tell them about the massive amount of work that has already been done to promote the opportunities for local businesses." "All we are asking is that business people attend the luncheon, see the display, hear what the guest speakers have to say and enjoy the entertainment which, in the interests of novelty and surprise, must be kept under wraps for now." Following the luncheon an open invitation is extended to all members of the community to see the display and attend the disco evening which is to be held on the top floor of the Ohakune Club.
