Sports coordinator needed
"It was time to have a person appointed to coordinate the great variety of sport and recreation facilities currently available in Ohakune," said Mayor Bill Taylor at last week's Ohakune Borough Council meeting. The Finance and Administration Committee felt that
with the increased activity and sporting facilities available in Ohakune and encompassing the Waimarino, the Council should approach the Ministry of Sports and Recreation with regard to the appointment of a 'community recreation' person to co-ordinate the various functions.
