NUKE-FREE SIGNS TO JOIN OTHERS
Suddenly this sign became meaningful last week when the snow arrived in the Waimarino to get the 1984 season away to a great start (see special Ski Supplement and Dining Out Guide pp 8-12). These signs are situated at each of the three approaches to Ohakune to remind motorists of Borough by-laws. Other more permanent signs declaring the Borough 's nuclear weapons free status are soon to be erected on the same approach roads. The Ohakune Borough Council gave its approval last Thursday night for the erection of three Nuclear Weapons Free ' Zone signs in response to a request from the Waimarino Peace Group's spokesman, Mr Paul Beckett of Rangataua. The signs will feature the international Nuclear Free Zone symbol.
