THEFT

Within three days of opening for business a fashionware shop in Ohakune was broken into and about $500 .worth of goods stolen. The Factory Fashions shop (next to the Cedar Service Station) had opened the day before Queen's Birthday weekend and staff had spent the weekend putting the finishing touches to the displays of stock. Sometime on Monday night the front door was jemmied open and a range of tracksuits, ladies sweat shirts and mens jeans were taken. Proprietor Marguerife Greenwood, originally from Ohakune but for the past one-and-a-half years resident in Auckland,, said that she thought those responsible for the theft knew exactly what they were looking for.
