Abuses costing Council
The Raetihi Borough Council are concerned at the "blatant abuses of the sewerage services and at the unbudgeted expenses these abuses are costing the council to remedy." When council staff have cleared blocked sewers in recent months they have found a number of causes — three whole toilet rolls, large 'blobs' of solidified fat and a lot of road metal. The sources of these items haven't yet been traced but the Council will immediately prosecute those responsible when they have been identified.
