PLUNKET NEWS

The Annual General Meeting of the Ohakune sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held recently at the home of Mrs T, Nation. The Plunket Committee has had an enjoyable year with one of the major fundraising events being a bottle collection. This will not be forgotten by the members that took part as it was a very snowy day but well worthwhile. The newly elected members are: President D. Pasco, Vice Presidents R. Frazer and B. Marriott, Secretary J. Beytagh, Committee J. Bidwell, N. Bishop, B. Deadman, L. Deadman, R. Kuiti, D. Mcllwrick, D. McKenzie and M. Weir. The Plunket Committee have a portable cot for hire. The charge is $1.50 a day or $6 a week. For enquiries contact B. Deadman. The first activity planned for the new committee is a pinecone collection at Noeline and Brent Bishop 's farm at Horopito. Members and children will be having a picnic lunch at the farm before collecting the pinecones. The committee will be selling the bags of pinecones at a later date.
