Saturday 26 May Mild damp conditions for a number of overdue matches and a small field playing a medal competition. Best scores by R. Southee 67, S. Magee and J. Ennis 69. S. Magee scored the only two. Sunday 27 May Perfect conditions for the biggest field of the season. 56 players started in the First Championship qualifying round with G. Russell carding an excellent 70 off the stick, with his first shot out of bounds. Top scores in a stableford haggle were: Senior J. Summerhays 40, B. Drinkwater 39, C. Cranston and A. Berridge 37. Junior A.R. Brown 41, T. Darroch 39, N. Clark & C. Allerby 37, R. Wise 36. Newcomers to the club, D. Lawry scored 44 points but did not enter the haggle, and expensive lesson.
