We would like to claim that leaders of all political parties were regular readers of the Waimarino Bulletin, but the truth is that even Bob Jones, president of the New Zealand Party (pictured) had to admit this was the first time he had ever seen a copy of our local newspaper. When he called into our office on a private matter recently we asked him if the New Zealand Party was going to appoint a candidate to Contest the King Country seat currently held by Mr Jim Bolger, Minister of Labour, at this year's election he assured us that the matter was in hand. We have since learned from a Public Notice we've received for advertising in this edition that the New Zealand Party is forming a branch committee for the King Country Electorate to service the National Park, Waiouru and Waimarino districts (see Public Notices for details).
