Message from Commander ATG Waiouru
My congratulations to the management and staff of the Waimarino Bulletin on this, the occasion of the first anniversary of its publication. For many years the Army . Training Group in Waiouru had a significant, and justified, sense of isolation. In recent times this isolation has decreased greatly. The development of both Waiouru and the surrounding areas has proceeded apace. The Army Museum has proved a remarkable tourist attraction. The TurOa skifields have added immeasurably to the existing skifield attractions of Whakapapa. Progress, particularly in Ohakune, has been evident.
In all of this the Waimarino Bulletin has found its own role. It has added a further sense of community to the whole area, and plays a valuable part in improving the communication channels linking us with the adjacent areas. My best wishes for your future prosperity and development.
B.
